15,000 scientists just signed the largest-ever warning about Earth’s destruction                                        There’s no place like home, our warm and watery planet Earth. But we won’t be living here long if humans don’t change their ways, say 15,365 scientists from 185 countries who want your attention. On Nov. 13,  the journal BioScience  published the “World Scientists’ Warning to Humanity: A Second Notice” in four languages—English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese. The first warning was issued in 1992 when 1,700 members of the Union of Concerned Scientists argued that humans are “on a collision course with nature.” That group, which included numerous Nobel laureates, urged the world to save the Earth from extreme climate change by burning fewer fossil fuels, preserving forests, limiting population growth, and improving food production. “On the twenty-fifth anniversary of their call, we look back at their warning and evaluate the human response,” contempora

Six Principles of Non-Violence

Six Principles of Non-Violence We are not against other people, only what they are doing. Means are ends in the making; nothing good can ultimately result from violence. 1. Respect everyone–including yourself. The more we respect others, the more effectively we can persuade them to change. Never use humiliation as a tool–or accept humiliation from others, as that only degrades everyone. Remember, no one can degrade you without your permission. Healing relationships is the real success in nonviolence, something violence can never achieve. Even in a case of extreme violence, Gandhi felt it was possible to hate the sin, not the sinner. In 1942, when India was held down by the British and fearing a Japanese invasion, he advised his fellow compatriots: “If we were a free country, things could be done nonviolently to prevent the Japanese from entering the country. As it is, nonviolent resistance could commence the moment the Japanese affect a landing.” Thus,

How to Motivate Your Team During Q4 of the Year

Image
The end of the fiscal year is upon us as we begin our initial decent into the infamous fourth quarter. These final three months of the year will determine whether an organization's goals were met, objectives were accomplished and overall progress was made from the previous year. With that said, one thing that all executives are going to be asking for this holiday season is for a strong finish in Q4. Let's face it -- it's hard for executives to find ways to motivate employees as the year comes to a close. Thanksgiving and the December holidays are notorious for decreasing employee productivity, and the physical and mental stress of the past year starts to play a part in employee performance around this time as well. This is bad news for executives as they try and make one final push to end the year on a high note. Fortunately, there are proven ways to motivate employees specifically in Q4. Lead by example. ATTITUDE..!

The longer I live , the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude , to me , is more important than facts. It is more important than the past , than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what there people think or say or do.It is more important than appearance, gifted ability,or skill. It will make or break a company,a church , a home..! The remarkabl e thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace from than day.We can't change our past, we can't change the fact that people act in a certain way.We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing that we can do play on the one string that we have and this string is attitude. I am convinced that life is ten percent what happens to me and ninety percent how i react to it. And so it is with you..!WE ARE IN CHARGE OF OUR ATTITUDES..!!!!
